About Anjali Anturkar: I have been a MMD member since 2006 and served in 2006 as Treasurer, 2007 as Vice President and 2010 as a Committee Member. I work at University of Michigan as an Assoicate Vice President and enjoy working with students, love sports, music, movies and also playing cards. My family includes husband Nitin who works at GM and my both children are in college currently.

Anjali Anturkar replaces the outgoing president Abhijeet Bhusari, who was instrumental in revitalizing the organization.

Maharashtra Mandal of Detroit, a non-profit Organization was established in 1977 for convening Marathi-speaking people from India who reside in the Tri-state area. The goal of the organization is to foster the Marathi culture by organizing activities such as music, dramas, dances, as well as celebrating festivals such as Makar Sankrant, Gudi Padwa, Picnic, Natak,Ganesh Utsav, Kojagiri,Diwali, etc
