"INDIAN DANCE CREATIONS"

Indian Dance Creations is a modern interpretation of the cultural diversity and richness that India has in the world of dance. The dances choreographed by Mrs. Tanusree Shankar are based on the technique of New Dance, following the path shown by Uday Shankar, who popularized Indian dance and music all over the world since 1920.

The dances are original creative compositions not based on any classical or traditional style of dance, set to music by the pioneer of world music – ANANDA SHANKAR, son of Uday Shankar and nephew of the famous sitar player Pandit Ravi Shankar. The performance is Indian in origin and spirit, modern in presentation and universal in appeal.

Tagore through his works of poetry, songs and writing has immortalized love and inspired us.

His writings have provided solace in our darker moments. This ballet presents excerpts of his vast works that reinforce Tagore’s belief in truth, love, peace and spirituality.
