Singing talent: Saarang Sane

There is no dearth of budding talents in our state of Michigan. Saarang Sane, a native of Kalamazoo, MI is one such singing sensation whose unique talented has recently exploded on the You Tube videos and numerous blogs around the local Michigan area.

Originally from Pune, India, Saarang credits his musical talents to God’s blessings and also to his parent’s encouragement and support. His talent and dedication helped him bag the coveted Pune Idol Award in 2007, when he was chosen out of more than 600 contestants. The Pune Idol- 2007 title boosted his confidence and Saarang moved on to compete against 5000 contestants for the well- known reality TV Show Indian Idol in Mumbai.

Although, Saarang could not make it to the finals of that year’s show, he was ranked 30th amongst the throes of contestants. He vividly recalls meeting his idol Sonu Nigam in the process and calls it a highlight of his life so far. “Performing in front of my God Sonu Nigam was a dream come true”, Saarang claims. He soon moved on to perform songs for the Marathi film industry and also released two Bollywood song albums in Australia.

Saarang Sane has a melodious singing voice and can sing versatile styles with ease. He has a unique talent of singing in the voice of many different singing personalities. In the featured You Tube video that became viral in a matter of month, Saarang displays his singing caliber.

Saarang moved to United States to pursue higher education in Engineering Management from Western Michigan University. An engineering graduate from Pune University, he will graduate WMU with a Master’s degree in spring 2011. Although, Saarang has a great educational background, he calls engineering his “another “passion, with of course music being his #1. He looks forward to a future where he can successfully follow both his passions and serve the community with them.
