Bihar and Jharkhand joins India Day Parade 2012

In the 35 year history of the India Day celebrations organized annually by the India League of America to mark the Indian Independence Day, the Indian states of Bihar and Jharkhand joined the parade and the celebration for the first time. In this truly history making event MIBIHAR displayed it's strength, diversity and unity by participating in a big way. A group of close to forty adults and children from MIBIHAR joined the march enthusiastically. The children proudly waved the US and Indian flags. And, the adults filled the air with the "jai hind" and "vandematram" cheers. The feeling of national pride was evident in the high spirits of all the participants who were dressed in the colors of the Indian national flag - saffron, white & green and carried the MIBIHAR banner with great joy and fervor all the way from the outdoor parade route to the stage inside the venue. It was truly a memorable day - Jai Hind! Bharat Mata Ki Jai!!!
